When can I lodge a dispute?

You must first have submitted a claim to your employer. For more information see the State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA) website: Workers Compensation Claims.

You can lodge an application to resolve a dispute with us if:

  • you have not received a decision about your claim from the insurer
  • you have received a letter from the insurer saying that your claim has not been accepted (s78, s74 or s54 notice)
  • you have received a letter from the insurer saying that they have accepted the claim, but you disagree with the amount of compensation payable

You may request your insurer to review their decision before lodging an application with the Commission.
