What is an arbitrator?

An arbitrator is a decision maker who is independent of the worker, employer, insurer or any other party involved in a dispute.

Arbitrators understand the workers compensation system and how it relates to the interests of all those involved.

Arbitrators have extensive experience in dispute resolution and are trained to conduct proceedings in a way that is fair to all parties.

Arbitrators encourage and assist those involved to come to an agreement. When an agreement cannot be reached, arbitrators will issue a binding direction.
