What is an Approved Medical Specialist?
An Approved Medical Specialist is a medical specialist who assesses medical disputes for us. They are highly experienced and will provide an independent and unbiased assessment about your injury.
There are two types of medical assessments:
- assessment of degree of permanent impairment
- assessment of the worker's condition (such as prognosis and treatment), or fitness for employment.
The President of the Commission appoints Approved Medical Specialists.
