When can I apply?
If you are an injured worker, you can only apply for an Interim Payment Direction when an insurer has been notified about a workplace injury and has either:
- not started payment within the compulsory time, and/or
- not explained why this has happened, or
- disputed the claim without a valid reason.
If you have been off work and haven’t been paid before your application was made, we can also order payment of weekly compensation of up to ten weeks for the time before you lodged your application. You don’t need to have made a workers compensation claim to request an Interim Payment Direction.
