When are Interim Payment Directions refused?
There are strict conditions for the payment of weekly benefits.
Under the legislation, an Interim Payment Direction may be refused for any of the following reasons:
- your claim has minimal prospects of success,
- you have returned to work,
- you did not report the injury to your employer as soon as possible after the injury happened,
- there is not enough medical evidence available concerning your period of incapacity, or
- the insurer has a valid reason for disputing your claim and has served you with a notice advising you of the reasons.
