Closing the dispute process

A dispute may be finalised or resolved in a number of ways:

An agreement is reached

Parties may come to an agreement about the dispute at any time before a dispute is determined by the Commission.

Parties may file Consent Orders for agreements reached in relation to some types of disputes.

Discontinuing the dispute

A dispute may be discontinued at any time, either because you have asked for this to happen, or because all parties have reached agreement and wish to stop proceedings. The following links contain more information on closing the dispute process:

By a decision being made

If a dispute is referred to an Arbitrator, and no agreement has been reached between the parties, the Arbitrator will make the decision.
